Jordan McKibben is joining Gilead Sciences as associate director of public affairs, in his first in-house role.
He joins from AKT Health Communications, where he began as an account manager in 2019 before moving up the ranks to become senior account director from October 2023 to November 2025.
In his new role, McKibben reports to the senior director of public affairs, according to the job description, and his main responsibilities include product and pipeline communications, patient communications and advocacy and related internal and corporate comms within the affiliate.
He will work to manage budgets, to target, develop and implement strategic programmes, coordinate with cross-functional colleagues, develop and strengthen relationships with a wide variety of community advocates, organisations and professionals; and implement creative, patient-centric disease awareness and communication campaigns.
In the new role he will be responsible for representing public affairs within cross-functional brand teams and steering committees, as well as being the contact person for related crisis and issues mitigation and management.
McKibben began his comms career at Reynolds-MacKenzie Communications Group in a graduate account executive role in 2017, before moving up to senior account executive role in 2018.
