Wayve, a UK AI startup that develops self-driving technology for autonomous vehicles, has appointed Sara Luker as internal comms lead.
Luker, who has spent more than a decade in internal comms, posted on LinkedIn last week: “Delighted to have joined Wayve to lead internal communications. I’ve been lucky to work for some incredible brands in my career and companies who use technology to make the world a better place.”
She added: “That’s just what we’re doing at Wayve to deliver our AI Driver into hands-off, eyes-off and driverless vehicles. We are uniquely positioned to licence autonomy to any vehicle, anywhere.”
Luker is responsible for “ensuring clear, effective, and strategic communication within our fast-paced organisation”, according to the company.
She is also expected to come up with “compelling messages” as well as managing comms projects and working with managers “to keep our team informed and enthusiastic about the company's growth and progress”.
Luker is a “strategic communications leader” with expertise in “executive comms, internal storytelling, cultural change, and employee engagement” according to her LinkedIn profile.
Her last role was head of people engagement at Ovo Energy, which she left late last year after almost five years with the firm.
Prior to that she was head of employee engagement and internal comms at Trainline. She also held several roles during a six year stint at eBay, including that of global employee communications content lead.
Earlier in her career, Luker worked as a reporter at PRWeek, senior editor at creative comms agency Beetroot, and a news reporter at forward planning company Advance Media Information.
