Madeleine Porter, head of internal communications at media company Reach, is set to join Simply Business in the same role.
She will start in the newly created role on 16 March and report to Michael Garvey, brand and communications director. The role has a global remit, supporting around 1,000 colleagues across the UK and US and she is expected to have two or three direct reports.
Porter told In.Comms that her immediate priority in the role will be to “immerse herself in the company’s business and culture, building on the work the IC team is already doing to shape a clear strategy and narrative that guides their talented teams through their next chapter of growth”.
She will be working closely with the global CEO and group executive team to ensure that internal communications supports strategic clarity, engagement and performance – helping the business scale while protecting and strengthening its culture.
Porter added: “After having the privilege of leading internal comms for Reach over the past six years, it’s time for a new gig. I’m beyond excited to join Simply Business and support this purpose-driven and high-performance organisation through the next phase of their growth journey.”
Previous to her role at Reach, Porter was head of internal comms for betting giant Entain for over three years before leaving in January 2020. Prior to that she was an internal comms manager at Ladbrokes for two years.
As a result of the move, Reach is now advertising for a new senior communications manager.
