Chloe Fletcher has joined the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) as its new head of policy and external affairs.
She started her role this month and reports to Rachael Williamson, who previously held the position and is now executive director of policy, communications and external affairs.
Fletcher brings “a wealth of experience across housing, public policy and stakeholder engagement,” according to the CIH.
She has joined from the Housing Quality Network, where she was director with responsibility for networks, content and events. Prior to that she was policy director at council housing trade body the National Federation of Arms-length Management Organisations.
Earlier in her career Fletcher was head of affordable housing at London Councils, and also held policy roles at Lewisham Council and the London Housing Unit.
In her new role at CIH, Fletcher has been tasked with leading the organisation’s policy development, external affairs strategy and influence agenda. She will oversee CIH’s work to shape housing policy, drive advocacy, and enhance its external profile.
Williamson said: “I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Chloe to the CIH team. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will strengthen our ability to represent our members’ voices through our policy and external affairs work and further raise CIH’s profile across the housing sector.”
Commenting on her new role, Fletcher said, “I am thrilled to be joining CIH and returning to a policy and external affairs role. It is a real privilege to lead the CIH policy team, and I am looking forward to working with CIH colleagues and stakeholders to drive change in housing.”
