GSK moves media relations specialist to investor relations

The pharma giant has switched a senior member of its corporate comms team into investor relations.

Dan Smith has stepped down from his role as director, global corporate media relations at GSK to become director, investor relations, at the pharma giant.

He has left the media relations unit led by Tim Foley, vice president, global corporate media relations, to join the investor relations team headed up by Constantin Fest, senior vice president, head of investor relations.

Smith announced his new role in a post on LinkedIn earlier this month in which he simply stated: “I’ve started a new position as Director, Investor Relations at GSK.”

The pharma firm’s investor relations team is responsible for the dissemination of information about GSK to financial analysts and institutions. It is split across London, UK, and Philadelphia, US.

Smith has spent almost his entire career at GSK, which he joined almost a decade ago after an eight month stint as project officer at the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.

He started off as a communications and government affairs associate at GSK before being promoted to global corporate media manager in 2019.

Less than three years later he was promoted to director, global corporate media relations, at GSK.
