Louise Prior has been promoted to director of global communications at Oceania Cruises, following the recent departure of her boss Tim Rubacky last month.

She started her new role last month and reports to chief marketing officer Michelle Yukhtman and chief luxury officer Jason Montague.

Prior heads up a comms team that comprises “a global agency network including New York, London, Sydney plus team members in Southampton, Miami and Sydney”, according to a company spokesperson.

Prior has spent more than 20 years in travel and leisure PR. She describes herself on her LinkedIn profile as having “international expertise and experience in journalism, PR, corporate communication, crisis management, event planning, and internal communication”.

She joined Oceania Cruises in 2023, and was senior manager, global brand communications, before being promoted to her current role.

She started her career at Thomson Holidays, where she worked in internal communications, before joining Travel Trade Gazette as a reporter in 2001.

Prior subsequently worked as a PR manager at lastminute.com before becoming a freelance PR consultant in 2007.

She has since worked for clients such as youtravel.com, STA Travel, Cruise Lines International Association, Oceania Cruises and Ewbank’s Auctions.
