Mario Gornati (pictured) has been appointed director of marketing and communications at Sunseeker, while Mark Chinery has been promoted from sales manager to sales director. The senior appointments come in the wake of the departure of Sean Robertson, sales and marketing director, last week after almost 40 years at the company.

Gornati has joined from digital art firm Cinello, where he was marketing and sales director. His previous positions include chief marketing officer at yacht manufacturer Azimut Benetti Group and group marketing and communication director at Sanlorenzo Yacht.

In his new role, Gornati is leading the “strategic development and execution of all marketing, brand and communications activities”, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He also “oversees brand positioning, product marketing, digital strategy, PR, events, sponsorships, internal communication” and “acts as brand ambassador to uphold the company’s reputation for innovation, craftsmanship and luxury”.

Gornati has “a distinguished track record of brand-building, strategic global campaigns and market expansion” with “over 15 years’ experience in senior leadership roles across the global yachting and luxury sectors”, according to Sunseeker.

Commenting on the new hires, which were announced this week, Sunseeker chief executive Andrea Frabetti said: “Mark and Mario each bring deep and proven expertise within the luxury yacht sector.”

He added: “Their appointments mark an exciting chapter for Sunseeker as we continue to accelerate investment in innovation, brand growth and customer experience.”

Gornati said: “I look forward to building on Sunseeker’s rich heritage to deliver innovation and inspiration for our global audiences.”
