Body Shop boosts comms team with new lead role

An experienced PR professional is moving into their first in-house role.

The Body Shop has appointed Chloe Gorman as its first UK communications lead, a newly created position. She has joined from Brandstand Communications, where she was an account director.

Gorman started her new role last month and reports to Sarah Kay Henriques, UK head of marketing.

She is overseeing PR and influencer work, as well as working closely with the social team to co-ordinate calendars and launch plans.

“Whilst my remit is UK, I’ll be working closely with the global team to ensure brand alignment,” Gorman told In.Comms. “It’s a really exciting year for The Body Shop, as it celebrates its 50th anniversary and continues to prove itself as an icon of the British high street.”

Her initial priorities include a summer campaign for “an exciting new glow-giving body and skin collection, along with some iconic original products that have been reimagined for a modern audience”.

She added: “There are also some exciting launches and campaigns to be revealed in the second half of 2026, all focused on continuing to build brand love, drive consideration and introduce a new generation of customers to The Body Shop.”

Gorman has spent her entire career to date in agency roles. Prior to her five years at Brandstand Communications she was a senior account executive at travel marketing and comms agency MMGY Hills Balfour. Gorman previously worked at health and beauty agency The Spa PR Company, where she was a senior account executive.

Commenting on the reason for moving into her first in-house role, she said: “Having spent many years working in agency roles, I was ready for the chance to help shape communications and storytelling in a more in-depth, strategic and long-term way. What attracted me to the role was the opportunity to work closer to the heart of the business and really immerse myself in one organisation.”
