Accounting firm creates new senior comms role

RSM UK, a major audit, tax and consulting firm, has created a new role to boost its profile.

RSM UK has appointed Caroline Hooley, ex-creative director at Deloitte Consulting, to the newly created senior role of creative and communications director. 

Hooley will “support the UK firm’s drive to project its brand as part of its continued growth and its expanding transatlantic partnership with the US, Canada and Ireland”, according to the company.

She has “deep expertise as a creative director, writer and multidisciplinary storyteller” and will “help super-charge RSM UK’s profile both within and beyond a professional services sector that continues to evolve at pace”, the firm added.

Prior to joining Deloitte Consulting in 2023, Hooley was chief storyteller at Deloitte Digital. Other previous roles include head of narrative at Deloitte Consulting, freelance creative director at Adidas, group brand leader at the National Grid, and business development manager at the British Library.

In her new role at RSM UK, which started last month, Hooley leads a team of around 40 people and reports to Catherine Riches, partner and chief marketing officer. 

Riches commented that Hooley’s “proven track record of creative excellence and strategic vision brings a breadth of experience and insight of the kind that will help us unlock the huge potential that lies ahead of us”. 

She said: “I’m excited about the fresh perspective and new energy that Caroline will bring. Her arrival marks an important milestone, and I look forward to working closely with her as we navigate the next phase of our growth.”

And Hooley remarked: “The ability to connect expertise across disciplines, regions and borders and communicate it with clarity, creativity and purpose has never mattered more.” She added: “I’m really excited to be leading the creative, content and communications teams here at RSM.
